Which Airlines Suspend Flights As Middle East Tensions Rise?

Multiple airlines have paused and canceled flights over or to the Middle East amid conflicting tensions there. 

There have been recent cancellations and delays with the flights in response to the arousing conflicts in the Middle East. In order to ensure the safety of the passengers, the airlines have suspended their flights to keep them away from the affected space in the air. The tension between Israel and Lebanon over the Middle East has given rise to such an incident. There are many airlines that have terminated their flight travel till the end of the year. 

Here is the list of some airlines that have either paused or adjusted their flight services to and from the region:

Delta Airlines-

The major US-based airline has also paused its scheduled flights between New York and Tel Aviv until Dec. 31.

Easyjet Airlines-

Easyjet, a UK-based airline, also stopped its flight services to and from Tel Aviv in April and will resume flights on March 30, 2025.

Air India-

Air India has also suspended its scheduled flight services to and from Tel Aviv until further notice.

Cathay Pacific-

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airlines has recently canceled all flights to Tel Aviv until March 27, 2025.

LOT Polish Airlines-

The Polish flag carrier Lot Polish Airlines has also suspended all flights to Lebanon until further notice. However, flights to Tel Aviv are in operation, according to their email statement on the 10th of September.

Lufthansa Airlines-

Germany’s largest airline also stopped its flights to and from Tel Aviv and Tehran up to and including Sept. 19. Recently, it resumed its flights to Tel Aviv on Sept. 5. 

Air Baltic-

Air Baltic is planning to resume its flights between Riga and Tel Aviv on Sept. 17, according to an email sent on Sept. 16.

Sundair-

The German-based airline has also canceled all flights between Bremen and Beirut until Oct. 23.

Sunexpress-

Another airline, SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, has also stopped its flights to services to Beirut through Dec. 17.

United Airlines-

United Airlines has paused its flight services to Tel Aviv for the foreseeable future due to security reasons.

Lebanese Airspace Alerts- 

Additionally, Britain has advised the UK Airlines to restrict its entry into Lebanese airspace foreseeing “potential risk to aviation from military activity” from the 8th of August to the 4th of November.
