Airlines frequently face challenges when they have to make decisions that end up being things that were in the long run or have been a part of the history of the airline. There have been services that Singapore Airlines provides on the Houston route. Singapore Airlines has decided to suspend the flights from its Manchester to Houston routes, and it will no longer entertain flights to this route.
The flights from Manchester to Houston will be suspended from 1st April 2025 with some other changes. The suspension is only for the Manchester to Houston, and other flight services from different destinations to Manchester will remain open. It is the longest route in the Singapore Airlines flight history Houston, with the ending 26 hours long flight.
According to the sources, there will be no changes to other services, and the airline will fly five times a week to Manchester. The change is a part of its Summer 2025 flight schedule, which came as a surprise for everyone as it is for the first time in 17 years that the airline will no longer serve Houston in the USA.
Apart from this, Singapore Airlines is also increasing the services they provide to and from the UK. They have recently launched a London Gatwick flight with the 40%, as they have resumed the services with a 40% frequency hike.
Now, the airline will be dependent on the Start Alliance partners to provide services to the passengers who want to travel from or to the Texan Metropolis.
The United States of America Department of Transportation said that there has been a Singapore Airlines Houston seat occupancy decline the factors decreases from 70% in 2019 to 33% in 2023, which is definitely a matter of concern.
The route was started with Moscow in 2008 and then later shifted to Manchester in 2016 because of the economic instability of Russia and this was the beginning of Singapore Airlines flight routes in the UK.
Though the airline has imposed restrictions on the Houston Route, it also confirmed its commitment to Manchester with five flights in a week with A350-900 will be continued without any troubles.
As we have discussed, the airline will serve the USA. There are five airports where the flight will be operated, including Los Angeles, Newark, Seattle, San Franciso, and New York JFK Airport. However, the services to London Gatwick will be available on a daily basis and will not be limited to weekly operations.
